Satres offers a quick and easy solution that revolutionizes the creation of models (in polyurethane, wood, etc.) for Orthopedics.

Thanks to the OrthoCAM software and the HSM 1000 C Ortho milling machine can be obtained customized models of Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P)  with simplicity and with minimal training, starting from a polyrethane‘s block or other materials with dimensions up to 650 mm x 1100 mm.

Machine programming become simple – OrthoCAM  

OrthoCAM is the CAM software designed by Satres specifically for orthopedics that makes it very easy to use the Milling Machine. Thanks to the pre-set programs and its libraries, operating the machine is child’s play.

The Machine’s kinematic simulator makes safe any operation.

HSM 1000 C Ortho is a line of 3 and 4 axis Milling Machines for Orthopedics, Made in Italy.

Its intuitive interface allows its use to inexperienced operators. It’s designed to function as a printer (plug and play): you connect it and start using it immediately.

It allows you to process blocks up to 650 x 1100 mm in size.

HSM 1004 C ORTHO’s Applications

HSM 1004 C ORTHO is the solution designed and created by Satres specifically for the orthopedic sector. Thanks to its 4 axes, the machine is able to produce customized external prostheses and orthoses, eliminating any waste of time.

The production process is organized as follows: after the phases of acquiring and modelling trough CAD software, the prototyping of the designed model takes place by milling. The process starts from a compact block of expanded polyurethane, with a maximum diameter of 600×1000 mm, that is roughed with the appropriate tools. The block is then milled in order to obtain the shape predetermined by the CAD modelling, in a very short time. Thanks to the collection tank, which is connected to the aspiration system, it is possible to work in a environment free of dust and waste materials.

Working Process

  1. Scan: for a rapid, accurate and non-invasive acquisition of the patient data, there are various solutions such as the 3D sensor for mobile devices;
  2. Grinding: through a special optional software, it’s possible to import the scanned shapes and in order to model the 3D shapes;
  3. Simulation: thanks to the OrthoCAM4X software, optional and embeddable in the HSM 1004 C ORTHO, it’s possible to set up 4-axis machining quickly and intuitively, without any knowledge of CAM programming;
  4. Milling: starting from a polyrethane’s block with a maximum diameter of 600 X 1000 mm, that is mounted on OrthoBLOCK, the proprietary quick coupling system designed to facilitate the loading and unloading of the components, it’s possible to obtain the required model with a few simple settings. The collection tank of HSM 1004 C ORTHO, which is connected to an aspiration system, allows to work in an environment free of dust and waste materials.
